Allington

  • Just a short walk from the house, youโ€™ll find the village playing field where you can stretch your legs and the kids can play.

    In July, it hosts Allingtonโ€™s Big Weekend festival while in November, it hosts the very popular village bonfire and fireworks display.

  • Across the road from the house, tucked away along a picturesque path youโ€™ll find the village church. Dating back to the 12th century, the Holy Trinity Church serves Allington and its visitors in worship, weddings, funerals and baptisms, and youโ€™ll hear its bells ring every Sunday.

  • On the other side of the green, just in front of the village cross, youโ€™ll find  The Welby Arms, a traditional village pub and garden.

  • Situated within the house at Allington Manor, The Beauty Lounge offers a wide range of beauty and holistic treatments.

  • The historic Viking Way passes through Allington. This walking route is influenced by the history of Britainโ€™s Norse invaders in the 8th and 9th centuries and winds 149 miles through Lincolnshire, Leicestershire and Rutland, from the Humber Bridge to Oakham.

     Allington is surrounded by prime rolling countryside that is ideal for walking, cycling and horse riding. Lincolnshire County Council website features an electronic map which will help you locate public access routes, including bridleways, in the surrounding area.

  • A mile out of the village along Gonerby Lane, youโ€™ll find Arena UK, a large equine showground and corporate events venue.

  • Just 6 miles away in Grantham, St Wulframโ€™s Church is a Grade I listed cathedral-like medieval parish church with a busy programme of services and events. Visit its gallery of medieval carved stone heads and angels or its ancient Chained Library.

  • The nearby town of Grantham is part of route 15 on the UK-wide National Cycle Network and it is mapped on one of the 5 East Midlands loops on the National Byway.

  • Belton Estate is less than 6 miles from Allington and boasts exceptional parklands, an ancient deer park and a stunning house with formal gardens.

  • Carved from the ancient forest of Sherwood, Clumber Park was a country estate for over three centuries. Located just over 30 miles from Allington, today it plays host to a programme of events, as well as offering 20 miles of paths and trails for walkers, runners and cyclists to explore.
